KT Super K2 Drive Pro Carbon – The Ultimate Foil Assist Board with Removable Carbon Trench Cover

The KT Super K2 Drive Pro Carbon takes the proven Super K2 platform and adapts it specifically for Foil Drive Assist use. Recessing the foil and Drive unit closer to the board reduces the distance between your feet and foil, creating a more direct connection with faster response and a livelier feel. The trench is intentionally longer and wider than previous Foil Drive implementations, providing enough clearance to open the battery latches and remove MAX+, MAX and Slim batteries in the most common track positions without taking the Foil Drive off the board. Volume is reduced by approximately 5 litres across the range compared to standard Super K2 models of similar dimensions.

Feeling

The Super K2 Drive retains the balanced, confidence-inspiring feel that made the original Super K2 so popular. It remains stable through kneeling take-offs, standing, accelerates cleanly onto foil and feels composed once flying. With the foil recessed closer to the rider, the connection feels noticeably more direct and reactive through turns. Careful volume distribution around the trench keeps the board balanced rather than corky or oversized – preserving the surf-oriented carving character of the Super K2.

Speed

The Super K2 Drive accelerates efficiently onto foil and carries speed cleanly once flying. During takeoff and surface contact, the carbon trench cover reduces the amount of exposed trench interacting with the water, helping the board release cleanly and skip through touchdowns without the sticky feeling associated with larger open trenches.

The Removable Carbon Trench Cover – The Innovation

Ryan Arzy and KT Foiling set out to solve one of the biggest compromises of conventional trench board design. A tightly fitted trench has previously been the standard to minimise drag, but makes battery changes impossible. The all-new Removable Carbon Trench Cover, developed in collaboration with Cobra International, solves the dilemma elegantly. The trench remains wide and long enough for easy battery swaps with the Foil Drive installed, while the carbon cover closes the exposed area during riding. Secured with three short T30 screws, it can be quickly removed when battery access is needed and reinstalled for maximum hydrodynamic efficiency. Riders can experience the difference directly by riding the board both with and without the cover.

Design Philosophy

The Super K2 Drive was designed around the realities of everyday Foil Assist use. Its longer, wider trench provides the clearance required to open battery latches and swap batteries while leaving the Foil Drive mounted to the board. That means faster changes on the beach or between runs, less hardware removal and less opportunity to wear or strip mounting hardware over time. The removable carbon trench cover then addresses the hydrodynamic compromise created by that additional space. Compatible with Foil Drive MAX+, Fusion, MAX and Slim.

Shape

Refined Super K2 midlength outline tuned for early lift, balanced stability, glide and surf-style carving. Foil Drive-specific recessed trench positioned to maintain balanced foot pressure and consistent foil control. Revised 35L and 45L outlines provide additional stability for offset and strapped riding while accommodating the extended battery-access trench.

Construction Highlights

Removable Cover: Closes the enlarged trench during riding for cleaner hydrodynamics while remaining quick to remove for battery changes. Agility: With KT's lightest, strongest carbon high-density sandwich layup, the Super K2 Drive remains responsive and manoeuvrable. Bringing the foil closer to the board reduces the distance between rider and foil – inputs feel more immediate, lively and connected. Updated strap insert positioning supports a more surf-oriented offset stance, reducing heel-side bias and helping keep the rider centred over the foil.
