Test Foil Drive – with your own setup or all-inclusive
Two options, one idea: experience Foil Drive under real conditions before you buy. With the Test Session (€150) you bring your own board and foil – we mount the Foil Drive Gen2 Max or the new Fusion System and you're on the water right away. The full test fee is refunded when you purchase a Foil Drive kit.
The All-Inclusive Test Session (€250) is designed for those without their own gear or who want to compare high-performance setups: specially matched Sunova boards, Code Foils, and integrated mast systems – including Gen2 Max and Fusion. Both systems can be tested back-to-back. The test fee is partially or fully refunded based on your purchase amount.
On-water coaching – direct, precise, individual
The Coaching Session (€200) is for riders who already own a Foil Drive setup. Kai-Nicolas Steimer accompanies you directly on the water – thanks to the BB Talking headset system, you receive real-time feedback while riding. The coaching adapts to your level: takeoff, pumping technique, stability at speed, turns, transitions, and efficient use of motor assistance.
At the same time, we analyze your setup together: Foil Drive positioning, mast and foil settings, balance, and individual adjustments. Often a small tweak makes a big difference. Duration: up to 2 hours. With a purchase of €3,000 or more, €100 of the coaching fee is refunded.

Kai is one of Germany's first foilers – he's been on the foil since 2016 and is an active rider across all disciplines: wing, prone, downwind, pump, SUP. As a marine engineer, he understands foil profiles, fluid dynamics, and material physics at a level few can match – where others say "feels good," Kai explains exactly why.
Last year alone he covered over 1,200 km of downwind riding – on the Baltic Sea, the Atlantic, and various European spots. He has personally tested nearly every relevant board, foil, and system on the market. His coaching style is clear, structured, and individual – and calm. Whether you're a complete beginner or an advanced rider, Kai meets you at your level and gets you progressing.
The Test Session uses your own board and foil – you test the Foil Drive system on your own equipment. The All-Inclusive Test Session provides fully matched performance setups with Sunova boards and Code Foils, ideal if you don't have your own gear yet or want to compare complete performance packages side by side.
Yes, for the regular Test Session (€150) you bring your own board and foil – we mount the desired Foil Drive system onto it. For the All-Inclusive Test Session (€250) the entire setup is included, so you don't need to bring anything.
Yes. The Test Session fee (€150) is fully refunded when you purchase a Foil Drive kit. The All-Inclusive Session (€250) has a tiered refund: €50 for purchases of €2,000–3,000, €100 for €3,001–5,900, and €250 (full refund) for purchases of €6,000 or more.
For riders who already own a Foil Drive setup and want to improve their technique, control, or equipment tuning – from beginners to advanced riders. You bring your own equipment, so coaching happens under your real conditions.
The BB Talking headset system allows direct communication on the water. Kai provides feedback and corrections in real time while you're actively riding – far more effective than coaching from the shore or post-session review.
Sessions take place in northern Germany. The Test Session lasts up to 60 minutes, the All-Inclusive Test Session up to 90 minutes, and the Coaching Session up to 2 hours. Dates are available on Fridays and Saturdays – book directly via the product pages.
