Anode Replacement Kit – Corrosion Protection for the Electronics Box
The zinc sacrificial anode is located on the underside of the Foil Drive Electronics Box and protects it from galvanic corrosion caused by saltwater. As a less noble metal, it draws the corrosive reaction onto itself, protecting the more valuable components of the box.
When to Replace?
Foil Drive recommends replacing the anode every 6 months – or sooner depending on how frequently you ride. Once the anode is visibly corroded or significantly reduced in size, it should be swapped out. A worn anode that isn't replaced in time can eventually cause damage to the Electronics Box itself.
All Gen 2.5 kits (Fusion, MAX+) ship with an anode installed from the factory – this kit is for regular service replacement.
