With reduced volume compared to previous generations, the center of gravity sits closer to the waterline, improving stability despite the narrow outline. The refined bottom shape allows earlier lift onto foil, especially during flat-water starts and long paddle-ups.

Shape & Design Details
Outline:
The Aviator Downwind Race features an extremely sleek, parallel outline with a very straight mid-section. This straight outline is designed to get the board onto foil as early and efficiently as possible, prioritizing pure speed and race performance.
Rails:
The rails are hollow with a concave bevel shape, providing excellent tracking and stability on the very narrow widths of the Downwind Race. Even at high speeds, the board remains composed and predictable.
Rocker:
The rocker stays very low through the stringer, while the rails carry more rocker due to the pronounced rear vee and tail lift. This allows the board to naturally fit into both small wind bumps and larger open-ocean swells when paddling up.
Bottom:
A rounded nose transitions smoothly into a flat section throughout the foil box area. This minimizes drag during acceleration while delivering clean, controlled touchdowns at race pace.
Deck:
The deck features a soft concave that positions the rider as close to the foil as possible while maintaining the required volume. The lack of sharp edges prevents water from being trapped on the deck after take-off.
